Who We Are

Our Philosophy

World Pro Goaltending teaches a cutting edge style that focuses on making goaltenders more efficient. Through game situation movements in high repetition, goaltenders learn to move correctly, in control of their movements, and with balance. We believe that a compact butterfly style combined with read-and-react and patience skills, which creates the ultimate hybrid goaltender.


World Pro Instructors

TYLER LOVE
SENIOR HEAD INSTRUCTOR
Tyler Love is one of World Pro Goaltending’s founders and our first Senior Head Instructor. Tyler has been teaching private sessions and supervising camps for our group since 2001. Tyler is our main instructor in the Okanagan region and for the past seven years has been our main instructor for the Okanagan Hockey Group, working with their Academy goalies during the season and in charge of their summer goalie camps in the off season. In addition of his role with World Pro, Tyler is the goaltending consultant for Portland Winterhawks (WHL).

 

J.F. MARTEL
SENIOR HEAD INSTRUCTOR
J.F. Martel joined World Pro Goaltending in 2004, first as a part time instructor, and then as a full time instructor in 2007. He was elevated to the rank of Senior Head Instructor that same year. In addition of teaching private sessions, J.F. is the Head Instructor for most of our summer camps and is our main instructor in the eastern Alberta and western Saskatchewan region. J.F. is also been our main instructor with the Calgary Royals Athletic Association, being their Head Goaltending Consultant. In addition of his duties with World Pro, J.F. is the Goaltending Consultant for the Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL).

 

MARCUS BEESLEY
SENIOR INSTRUCTOR
Marcus Beesley joined World Pro Goaltending in 2011. He was elevated to the rank of Senior Instructor in 2013. In addition of teaching private sessions, Marcus is assigned to teaching at various clinics we run for minor hockey associations. In the off-season, Marcus is our Head Instructor for our Prince George summer camp. Marcus is also one of our main instructors with the Global Sport Academy Group and is the Goaltending Consultant with the Airdrie CFR Bisons (AMHL).

 

KRISTER TOEWS
SENIOR INSTRUCTOR
Krister Toews joined World Pro Goaltending in 2013. He was elevated to the rank of Senior Instructor that same year. Krister is one of the main instructors at our training facility. Krister is also one of our instructors assigned to Summit Hockey Academy and to minor hockey clinics. In addition of his duties with World Pro, Krister is the Goaltending Consultant for the Calgary Inforno (CWHL).

 

JONNY WEBB
SENIOR INSTRUCTOR
Jonny Webb joined World Pro Goaltending in 2014. He was elevated to the rank of Senior Instructor in 2015. In addition of teaching private sessions, Jonny is also assigned to various minor hockey clinics and morning programs we provide consulting for. In addition of his role with World Pro, Jonny is the Goaltending Consultant for the Calgary Buffaloes AAA Midget (AMHL) and Calgary Bisons AAA Bantam (AMBHL).

 

DEREK PURFIELD
CONSULTANT / INSTRUCTOR
Derek Purfield joined World Pro Goaltending in 2009 as a full time instructor. Since 2017 he has been a part time consultant to our group. Derek is the main instructor with Summit Hockey Academy, attending all of the academy’s ice times and working with their goalies on a daily basis. Derek also teaches private sessions at our facility on a part time basis. Derek is the Goaltending Consultant for the Okotoks Oilers (AJHL).

 

JESSE HEISER
INSTRUCTOR
Jesse Heiser joined World Pro Goaltending in 2014. Jesse has been one of the main instructors at our summer camps since. He has also been one of our main staff members for morning programs and minor hockey clinics and is one of your main part time instructors at the facility.

Consultants and Representatives

SUE RAFFIN
FLEXIBILITY CONSULTANT
Sue Raffin is a chartered professional gymnastics coach with the Canadian Assoc. of Coaches/NCCP level 4. Over the years many of her athletes have enjoyed National team status and even more have gone on to compete for NCAA Universities with full scholarships. Sue Raffin received a BSc. in Physical Education from Penn State University where she competed as a gymnast for 4 years. Recently, she has retired from coaching high performance gymnastics and currently consults for several clubs in Calgary.

Dr. CHRISTOPHER WOO
VISION THERAPY CONSULTANT

Dr. Chris Woo is a graduate of the Rosenberg School of Optometry and he has been working as an optometrist in Calgary for the past five years. Over the last few years Dr. Woo has developed a program for young athletes to help them with their vision and tracking. Dr. Woo has seen and consulted with numerous of our students from beginners to elite.

BARRY ADAMS
EASTERN ALBERTA / SASKATCHEWAN REPRESENTATIVE
Barry has been involved with World Pro Goaltending for the last 7 years. Based in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Barry is World Pro’s eastern Alberta and Saskatchewan representative. Barry has been camp coordinator for our Medicine Hat summer camp for the last 5 years and for our Saskatoon camp for the last 3. Barry has played an instrumental role in helping World Pro keep a year around presence in both Medicine Hat and south/western Saskatchewan.
